Gibraltar newspapers, editorials, periodicals and magazines
For finding out local information the Gibraltar Chronicle is probably the best known, although the editorial is quite watered down. Put it this way, there ain’t gonna be no Watergate scandals or Woodward and Bernstein at the Gib Chron. But it does keep up to speed on local events and what time the local cross stitch club will be meeting next week.
Then there’s the Olive Press, a spanish publication run by ex-pats. This is a little more racy and covers stories in Gibraltar as well as keeping us all alive on gossip and scandal. It’s a good read and has some great classifieds.
There are a variety of glossy magazines circulated around Gibraltar, quite a lot, in fact dozens if not hundreds and they are all very, very glossy and look the same. All full of paid editorials from local business’s that haven’t got a clue how to write an editorial without making it sound like a blatant advert. Also the usual photographs of all the red carpet events around town and all the celebrity characters in Gib. None spring to mind just at the moment.
There is also the Panorama, which is actually quite a good read, but their website always publish in teeny weeny print with only three words on each line which I find quite frustrating.
